After testing positive for COVID-19, Pakistan’s pace-bowling sensation Naseem Shah took to Twitter and updated fans about his health. The right-arm pacer informed that he’s recovering well alongside thanking his well-wishers for their prayers. It must be noted that Naseem has been sensational lately as his thunderbolts have troubled some of the best in the business.

While the young gun was expected to extend his sensational run in upcoming assignments, health issues have hindered his plans. He tested positive for Covid-19, one day after it was announced he had contracted pneumonia. Nevertheless, he has been released from hospital, and the PCB said he was "feeling better."

Thank you for keeping me in your prayers: Naseem Shah

The pacer informed the same through his tweet. “Alhamdulillah, I am feeling better and recovering well. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers! May Allah protect us all. Duaon main yaad rakhaye ga! See you all very soon!” tweeted the 19-year-old.

Meanwhile, Naseem contracted the virus midway through the ongoing seven-match T20I series against visitors England. He is the second person from the Pakistan camp to test positive for the virus, a week after an unnamed member of the Pakistan support staff tested positive.

As a result, Naseem has been ruled out of the ongoing series and the team management would want him back for the T20 World Cup. After the conclusion of England T20Is, the Men in Green will leave for New Zealand on October 3 to play a T20I tri-series also featuring Bangladesh, with the final on October 14.

Babar Azam’s men will then depart to Australia for the mega ICC event, where they’ll play a couple of warm-up matches before kick-starting their campaign against arch-rivals India in Melbourne on October 23.

If things go as per plans, Naseem Shah will share the new ball with Shaheen Shah Afridi and the two young speedsters are expected to shine on pace-friendly Aussie tracks.
