Former South Africa skipper and close friend of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers congratulated the Indian stalwart after Kohli ended his long-running century drought and smoked his 71st century in the international arena in India's last Super Four match of the 2022 T20 Asia Cup against Afghanistan.

De Villiers took to Twitter to congratulate his former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate and revealed having a conversation with Kohli prior to the game. He emphasized the fact that he knew something big was coming from Kohli's bat as the Men in Blue crossed the 200-run mark easily in their allotted 20 overs.

Dancing again! What a lovely sight: De Villiers wrote about Virat Kohli

The former South Africa skipper tagged Kohli in his tweet and wrote, "Dancing again! What a lovely sight. When I spoke to him yesterday I knew something was brewing well played my friend."

Talking about Kohli's innings, the right-handed batter opened the innings along with stand-in skipper KL Rahul as both batters took India's score past the 50-run mark inside the field restrictions. Even after Rahul got out, Kohli continued with his magical batting as he also ran hard between the wickets apart from stroking boundaries at regular intervals.

The right-handed batter went absoluetly berserk against the Afghanistan bowling line-up in the death overs as he smoked a maximum to complete his 71st hundred in the international arena with the Men in Blue comfortably crossing the 200-run mark in their allotted 20 overs.

Meanwhile, Team Afghanistan are off to a horrible start in their chase as they have lost both their openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Hazratullah Zazai within the first over of the chase. Senior pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar at first trapped Zazai in front of the wicket before cleaning up Gurbaz in the same over as Team India is looking set for a comfortable victory in their final game of the Asia Cup 2022.
