IND vs ENG 2025: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma grind out in nets ahead of Nagpur ODI

The Indian team will start the much-awaited three-match ODI series against England in Nagpur on Thursday, February 06. This will be the last series for the team ahead of the Champions Trophy, for which the team will be travelling to Dubai, and there will be some returning stars in this series as well.

The stars to look out for are Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. The two Indian stalwarts might not have had the best of days during the recent Test series but will look to try and dominate in the ODI series. This will also be an opportunity for them to find some form and get some confidence just ahead of the ICC event, where the experience duo will hope to help Men In Blue lift the silverware.

The team has already reached the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium and the practice sessions have started. Both Rohit and Virat in a recent video released by the BCCI are looking in great form while batting in the nets. The two legends were timing the ball well and these are great signs just ahead of the England series where they will be up against a great bowling attack that will feature the express pace of Jofra Archer and Mark Wood.

Speaking of the last time the two players featured in an ODI series was against Sri Lanka where Rohit was the leading run-scorer of the series. On the contrary, Virat had a lean run averaging only 19.33 against the Lankan Lions in the three games he played. The seasoned duo will want to make a statement in the upcoming series against The Three Lions.

The ODIs against Sri Lanka was the only series the Indians played in 2024. Their ODI World Cup 2023 was a dream run for both of them, with Virat ending as the leading run-scorer of the tournament, while Rohit, famous for using his intent throughout the tournament scored 597 runs at an average of 54.27.
