The Men in Blue prevailed in a tense encounter against Sri Lanka in Kolkata to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. With the series already in the bag, a contingent of Indian players accompanied by other members of the current backroom staff visited the renowned Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram to take the blessing of the almighty.
The members of the Indian team donned the traditional clothes, Dhoti and Angavastra, which is a prerequisite for visiting one of the oldest temples in the country. Suryakumar Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Axar Patel to name a few who visited the sacred establishment before the third ODI at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
The Men in Blue might make a few changes for the third and final ODI of the series in Kerala, with the likes of Ishan Kishan, Arshdeep Singh, and Suryakumar Yadav warming the bench in the first two matches. It will be interesting to see how India lines up if Yuzvendra Chahal is available for the final ODI.
Kuldeep Yadav, who was drafted in the starting eleven in place of Chahal, excelled for the team, returning with brilliant bowling figures of 3/51 in his ten-over quota. He even played a handy cameo with the bat as KL Rahul guided India to victory in a thrilling run chase at the iconic Eden Gardens.
