India captain Rohit Sharma along with his teammates reached Delhi in the early hours of July 4. The team received a grand reception at the airport as thousands of fans gathered to welcome the world champions. Rohit was seen walking out with the trophy in his hand and a bright smile on his face as his family was right behind him.

After reaching Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, BCCI secretary Jay Shah welcomed the skipper with flowers. Later, both Shah and Rohit cut a cake that was arranged as BCCI president Roger Binny was also present. The opener meanwhile looked happy as he also danced Bhangra while checking in at ITC Maurya. While travelling to the team hotel, Rohit also waved towards the fans and lifted the trophy that the fans were in attendance to see.

India have a packed schedule on July 4 as they will also meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting is expected to last for two hours, after which, the Men in Blue will return to the team hotel for a short period. Soon after that, they will leave for Mumbai, where a huge parade is planned at Wankhede Stadium and in the Marine Drive.

Meanwhile, a special champions jersey is designed for the Indian team. It’s the same jersey that the Indian team wore in the T20 World Cup but the name of the sponsor is replaced by the word ‘Champions’. Rohit, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube were spotted wearing that jersey while Binny was in an India blazer.

A special parade bus is also designed for the World Champions. The parade will begin in the evening at Wankhede Stadium and later at Marine Drive as the entire program is expected to end at around 9 pm IST.
