IPL 2023 Final: Deepak Chahar forces MS Dhoni into signing his jersey after CSK's title win
Dhoni was hesitant at first, but eventually signed the jersey.
Chennai Super Kings entered their name in history books as they clinched a record-equalling fifth IPL trophy by defeating Gujarat Titans in the summit clash of the 16th edition of the tournament. The game went down the wire when CSK needed 10 runs to win off the final two deliveries. What followed was a six and a four by Ravindra Jadeja under pressure, which helped the MS Dhoni-led side lift their fifth title.
While all the players had been celebrating the victory, Deepak Chahar got his jersey signed by all players of the camp. As he approached Dhoni and requested him to sign it, the wicketkeeper-batter refused to do so and walked started walking away. But Chahar was adamant about getting the signature and eventually convinced Dhoni to sign it.
