IPL 2024: Rishabh Pant declared fit as wicketkeeper-batter; Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Shami ruled out
Rishabh Pant, back from a life-threatening mishap, is fit as a wicketkeeper-batter for the upcoming tournament, the BCCI confirmed.
In a recent media advisory, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave crucial updates on the fitness of key players ahead of the much-anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
Star player Rishabh Pant, who faced a life-threatening road mishap in December 2022, is set to make a comeback. After a rigorous 14-month rehabilitation period, Pant has been declared fit as a wicket-keeper batter for the upcoming tournament as BCCI shared the news on their social media handle.
On the flip side, fast bowler Prasidh Krishna, who underwent surgery on his left proximal quadriceps tendon on February 23, is currently under the watchful eye of the BCCI Medical Team and will miss IPL 2024.

In another significant update, the BCCI confirmed that pacer Mohammed Shami, who underwent surgery on February 26, for a persistent right heel problem, is also set to miss the mega event and won't be joining the Gujarat Titans.
