Riyan Parag, the young batting sensation from Assam, has been in the form of his exceptional performances for Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing IPL 2024 season. His back-to-back brilliant knocks have propelled him to the top of the run-scoring charts, where he is currently competing for the Orange Cap. However, in the middle of all the fame of the IPL, a heart-warming moment took place as Parag waved back at his mother.

The cricketer has been showcasing his batting skills and finishing abilities with remarkable consistency. His match-winning knocks have been instrumental in Rajasthan Royals' impressive start to the season, securing three wins in their first three matches. After a blistering 84* against Delhi Capitals and a crucial 54* against Mumbai Indians, Parag found himself bagging the coveted Orange Cap.

In a touching moment captured on camera, Riyan Parag could be seen waving back at his mother, Mithu Barua, who was cheering for her son from the stands after he received the Orange Cap. The Rajasthan Royals' social media account shared the video showing the unbreakable bond between a mother and her son and captioned the post as “On public demand. 💗”.

Earlier, another video had captured Mithu Barua's motherly love as she welcomed Parag back to the team hotel. In the video, shared by the team Barua, a former national-level swimmer, was seen embracing her son with hugs and kisses, was full of pride, and seen placing the Orange Cap on his head.

She's seen the struggles: Riyan Parag

During the post-match interview after his stellar 84 not out against Delhi Capitals, Parag acknowledged his mother's support, stating, “Emotions are settled, mum's here as well. She's seen the struggles, this feels special.”

After his half-century against Mumbai Indians, he added, “I have practised these kinds of scenarios (batting under pressure). (My) Dad likes to watch everything from home, he likes to analyse everything, but my mom is here.”

With 181 runs in three matches at a strike rate of 160.17, he currently ranks second on the run-getters list, trailing behind Virat Kohli, who is at 203 runs after four matches. As Rajasthan lead the points table with six points, winning all of their games thus far, the all-rounder's contributions have been instrumental in their success.
