IPL 2024: Top 10 Memes from LSG vs DC, Match 26
DC secured their second win in the IPL 2024, outplaying LSG by six wickets.
Delhi Capitals (DC) bounced back to their winning form, outclassing Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by six wickets in the IPL 2024 clash held at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on April 12.
The home team looked to defend their 168-run target, but DC captain Rishabh Pant and debutant Jake Fraser-McGurk spearheaded their innings, shifting the momentum. The Australian, who came to bat at No. 3, following David Warner's departure in the fourth over, announced his arrival with a brisk half-century off 31 balls. However, his innings ended 55 off 35 deliveries, featuring two boundaries and five maximum after being dismissed by Afghan talent Naveen-ul-Haq.
On the other hand, Pant contributed 41 off just 24 deliveries before Ravi Bishnoi sent him back to the pavilion. Tristan Stubbs, often the rescuer for DC in some games, entered the fray when they stood at 146/4 in the 16th over, edging nearer to the target. He partnered with Shai Hope, adding unbeaten 15 and 11, respectively, allowing DC to effortlessly chase down the target with 11 balls to spare.

Earlier, LSG skipper KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bat first. Lucknow struggled to find their footing as they lost the wickets of Quinton de Kock and Devdutt Padikkal before the powerplay. Kuldeep Yadav emerged as the hero of the night, claiming the wickets of Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis for eight and West Indies' flamboyant batter Nicholas Pooran for a golden duck in consecutive deliveries in the eighth over. Rahul was the third victim who fell to the seasoned wrist spinner in the subsequent over.
DC took absolute control in the middle overs, thanks to Ayush Badoni's dazzling show in the death overs. Badoni hammered an unbeaten 55 runs off 35 deliveries and also forged a 73-run partnership for the eighth wicket with Arshad Khan (20*), who replaced the injured Mayank Yadav. In particular, their partnership set an IPL record, marking the highest eighth-wicket partnership in the history of the tournament.
