The young pacer Ashwani Kumar had a great debut in IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League), dismissing KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane as his maiden scalp. The left-arm pacer experienced a nervy moment when Tilak Varma initially fumbled the catch. However, Varma managed to grab it on the second attempt, allowing the emerging pacer to celebrate his special moment.

Ashwani's dream IPL debut began with perfect bowling set up
The field set was brilliant, as Ashwani Kumar had stationed the point fielder outside the 30-yard circle. Kumar bowled according to the field. He delivered a wider delivery, and Rahane threw his bat at it. The ball travelled exactly where Tilak was stationed. While Varma grabbed the ball, it fell from his hands initially.

However, he corrected his moment of lapse and grabbed the ball from his right hand and ensured the youngster's moment wasn't destroyed. Ashwani celebrated his dream start to the IPL career. It turned out to be a memorable moment for the young pacer.
Ashwani had a dream debut in the IPL. The emerging pacer took 4/24 in his spell of 3 overs for MI against KKR, which included the big scalps of Rahane, Rinku Singh, Manish Pandey, and Andre Russell. Ashwani did not allow the middle order batters of the 3-time champions to play their shots.
MI had nothing to worry about, as the young pacer constantly took wickets whenever Hardik asked him to deliver the goods. He registered one of the best spells for an uncapped bowler on debut in the history of the IPL. MI reduced KKR to 116 runs and gave themselves a good chance to claim the first win of their IPL 2025 campaign.
