Ever since the 55^th game of the Indian Premier League 2023, between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, concluded, MS Dhoni’s fans have only been speaking about the knee injury that the 41-year-old has been nursing ever since the start of the tournament. During his short stay on the field, Dhoni played a quick-fire knock, but he was also seen limping while running between the wickets.

Dhoni’s current form as been a major boost for CSK this season. The veteran wicketkeeper-batter, in almost every game, has walked in and hit the big shots in the death overs in the ongoing edition of the cash-rich event. He performed a similar task in the recent game against DC too, and even with an injury, he kept the gloves for the entire 20 overs in the second innings.

The CSK skipper received massive praise from one and all for the determination that he showed on the field and former India cricketer Irfan Pathan penned down a special note for Dhoni after his heroics. Sharing pictures with him from the dressing room post game, Pathan wrote:

In the picture that Irfan Pathan shared, MS Dhoni was seen wearing a knee strap, which raised concerns over the skipper’s condition. Chennai will play their penultimate game of the league stage on Sunday, May 14 and the fans and the team management too will hope for the legendary player to regain fitness and get back on the field.

Speaking of Dhoni’s cameo in the previous game, he faced nine deliveries and notched up 20 runs before walking out in the final over of the innings. His knock included two sixes and a four, and it proved to be crucial for CSK as they eventually grabbed a 27-run victory.
