The start of IPL 2025 means the cricketing fraternity witnessed a lot of high-scoring thrillers. The social media has been in awe of the effortless stroke-making displayed by the modern-generation batters, which has truly revolutionized the way T20 cricket is played. However, a certain section of fans is equally superficial and not liking the lack of competition between bat and ball, which has basically killed their interest in watching the game.

Belonging to the latter school of thoughts is the serial entrepreneur figure Anupam Mittal. The seasoned industrialist has been in the know for his hilarious tweets and witty humour on social media. Something similar came to the fore as Mittal said that the extreme boundary-hitting in IPL makes him feel that the bowlers should be removed from the game, replacing them with bowling machines.

“Everything is a wide, no, 4 or 6 #IPL should just replace bowlers with bowling-machines,” Anupam wrote on his 'X' handle, formerly popular as Twitter.

A set of people came in support of Mittal and told that though it might not be the most sensible thing to be introducing bowling machines into an actual game of cricket, they could still bring sanity to the game since bowlers have almost become slaves of getting hit for boundaries almost every single delivery.

GT vs PBKS: Another nightmare for the bowlers

The game between Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings was a perfect example of how the batters have taken control of the game at their comfortable best during the tournament. The Kings were put into bat by the Titans and put up a huge total of 243 on the board, and though the home team were in the chase, fell short of the target by only 11 runs, meaning that even losses are not one-sided due to the power-hitting prowess within both the sides.

There was no bowler in the game bowling under nine runs an over, apart from GT's R Sai Kishore, who was the best bowler on the day with figures of 3/30 in four overs. Only 10 wickets could be taken in the entire match against 450-plus runs being scored.
