West Indies will take on England in the first Test at Lord’s in London on July 10. Ahead of the Test, King Charles invited the West Indies team to Buckingham Palace. He interacted with every player and showed enthusiasm in trying to keep up with their brotherly traditions. He even tried a five-step handshake with a player before admitting it to be a complicated one.

There was huge destruction in Jamaica due to Hurricane Beryl and even the Indian team was stuck in Barbados due to the same after winning the T20 World Cup 2024. King Charles III expressed sorrow and concern for the people stuck on the island due to the hurricane. West Indies captain, Kraigg Brathwaite thanked the King for hosting and also revealed that he follows his horses closely.

“Also, I wish your horses all the best, I've been following them. We were honoured to be invited and it was a great opportunity for the whole team to be here. Hurricane Beryl has been devastating but we want to make West Indians proud and put a smile on their faces during these tough times,” said Brathwaite as quoted by India Today.
