In the 61st over, Pat Cummins bowled a bouncer that Rizwan tried to duck. However, the ball seemed to pass close to the sweatband attached to his right glove before settling into the mits of wicketkeeper Alex Carey.

The on-field umpire gave it not out but the Aussies challenged the decision. After watching quite a few replays, the third umpire asked the on-field umpire to overturn his decision as a disappointed Mohammad Rizwan had to make his way back to the pavilion. Now, a picture is going viral on social media where a white mark can be seen on the forearm of Rizwan. Some fans feel that the ball didn't touch the sweatband and instead hit the forearm on the way to the Aussie wicketkeeper.

Notably, the dismissal came at a very crucial juncture in the game. Pakistan had slumped to 162/5 before Salman Ali Agha and Mohammad Rizwan formed a 57-run partnership to bring the runs required down to 98. The latter was well set at the crease, batting on 35 off 62 balls. However, after he departed, the result was almost a foregone conclusion as it was always going to be difficult for the Pakistan lower order to tackle the relentless Aussie pace troika of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins, who in particular showed his excellent bouncer range.

With the 79-run victory, Australia bagged the series 2-0 with a game to spare. The third and final Test match of the series begins on Wednesday, January 3, in Sydney.
