MS Dhoni hits monstrous six in nets while gearing up for IPL 2023
In his 234 IPL appearances so far, Dhoni has scored 4978 runs with an average of 39.2, leading Chennai to four titles.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who will be leading Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, has already begun his preparations for the tournament. In a video shared by a fan on social media, fans can see 'Thala' hitting a huge six during the net practice ahead of IPL 2023.
The 2023 season of IPL is expected to be the last outing of the former Indian skipper in the league, and CSK will be looking to give him the fifth title win. In his 234 IPL appearances so far, Dhoni has scored 4978 runs with an average of 39.2, leading Chennai to the title four times in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021.

CSK also has the most appearances in IPL finals, ending the runners-up in the season 2008, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2019. However, the heavyweights of the tournament didn’t have a great outing last year as they finished at the ninth position with just four wins under their belt.
Dhoni renounced the captaincy and passed the baton to Ravindra Jadeja for 2022. However, MSD had to take over the charge again after a series of losses for Chennai in the first half of the season. Meanwhile, Jadeja was forced out of the tournament mid-way due an injury to his rib cage.
Well, as CSK has bought Ben Stokes for a big amount of Rs.16.25 crores at the 2023 auction, it is also rumoured that the English all-rounder could replace Dhoni as the skipper after his retirement. Apart from Stokes, the franchise has also added Ajinkya Rahane and Kyle Jamieson to their squad for 2023.
While Rahane was roped in for Rs.50 lakhs, the Kiwi all-rounder was bought for Rs.1 crore. It is to be noted that Rahane has had leadership experience for IPL teams in the past, and may be considered for leadership duties.
