Team Pakistan completed a dominating victory over New Zealand in the second game of the Tri-series played at the Hagley Oval on October 8 (Saturday). The Men in Green skipper Babar Azam played extremely well for his 70+ score and was adjudged player of the match for his knock.

Pakistan's all-rounder Shadab Khan also played well for his 34 runs as he stitched a vital partnership with Babar. Meanwhile, New Zealand's wicket-keeper Devon Conway grabbed the limelight after his outstanding efforts in the field during the second innings.

Conway saved two crucial runs for his side

Facing Tim Southee in the second innings, Shadab walked across toward the off-side and played a cheeky ramp over Conway as the ball raced away for what looked like a certain boundary. However, Conway had some other plans as he ran behind the ball and awoke the footballer inside him. The 31-year-old pulled out a sliding dive and somehow managed to get his boots to the ball and keep it from running across the boundary rope.

The Pakistan batsmen ended up running only two, as they thought that the ball will reach the boundary ropes. However, it did not matter much as the Men in Green won the match easily in the end.

Pakistan has now won both matches in the tri-series and will want to continue their good form in the competition before reaching Australia to participate in the 2022 T20 World Cup. New Zealand on the other hand looked rusty in its approach.

The Kiwi side will face Bangladesh in their next match of the Tri-series. The home team will want to make a strong comeback in the series and win the game at any cost. The match will be played on October 9 (Sunday) at the Hagley Oval, Christchurch.
