India and Pakistan are set to face each other in the 12th match of the ongoing ODI World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, October 14.

A picture of the pitch for the match, from close quarters was shared by the International Cricket Council (ICC). From an initial impression, the wicket looks like a belter and could favour the batters. Besides, Shubman Gill, who has resumed practice after missing the first couple of games due to illness, was seen taking a close look at the pitch.

This high-voltage clash between two arch-rivals is going to be the second game at the colossal venue in this edition of the ODI World Cup. The tournament opener between defending champions England and last edition's runner-up New Zealand was also played at this venue. Batters found it a bit difficult to time the ball in the initial phase of the first innings. Still, England managed to post 282/9 in their 50 overs. In the second innings, under the lights, the ball skidded on nicely onto the bat and the Kiwis managed to chase down the runs in just the 37th over.

As per the image shared by the ICC pitch for the India versus Pakistan clash looks like an even better batting surface and plenty of runs could be there for the taking.
