'One or two knocks won't change my mind' - Rohit Sharma after Cuttack century in second ODI vs England

The second ODI at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack saw Rohit Sharma finally find some form as he scored a brilliant match-winning century which helped India chase down a big total of 304 against England, scoring 119 off just 90 deliveries and claimed the series with one match to go at the Motera.

This was a vintage knock from the India skipper that showed the Hitman and his prowess as he made an otherwise great English bowling attack look ordinary smashing 12 fours and seven sixes in his innings. There was a lot of criticism regarding his form before this match however, Rohit gave a reply to all the criticism in a recently released video by the BCCI talking about his journey, performances, and approach towards the game.

“People have played for a number of years and scored so many runs over the years. That means something. I have played this game for a long time now, and I understand what is required of me, So, it's just about going out there and doing your things, and what I did today was one of my things. In my mind, it was just about doing the things that I do. Bat the way I do. Try and bat the way I do,” Rohit said in the video released by BCCI.

“I have been here long enough. One or two knocks are not going to change my mind. Just another day in the office. We need to do our job, okay. Our job is to just go out there, and you know that today when you go to bat, you have given your best, that is what matters," he added.

At the end of the video, he concluded by saying that it was all about enjoying the and talked about the mindset that is needed to score runs.

“When you have scored so many runs, you have done something right. You just need to get back to that. That mindset of how to get runs, how to score runs. Sounds really simple, but it is quite difficult. But in my mind, it was just about enjoying. That is what we play the sport for - enjoy the game more than anything else," the Player of the Match concluded.

This was Rohit’s 32nd century in ODI format and this was also the time where he finally broke his international drought, scoring his first hundred in 338 days and 28 innings.
