PCB threatens to take legal action against fan involved in altercation with Haris Rauf
“Those who are involved must immediately apologise to Haris Rauf, failing which we will pursue legal action against the individual responsible," Mohsin Naqvi tweeted.
The PCB’s (Pakistan Cricket Board) chief Mohsin Naqvi recently came forward and made a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter) about star pacer Haris Rauf’s recent altercation with a fan in the USA. It is worth noting that the fan verbally abused Rauf while he was with his wife in the USA for the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.
Rauf took seven wickets in four matches at an economy rate of 6.73 in the T20 World Cup 2024 and was out on a stroll with his wife when a fan approached him with the request of taking a photograph. However, the fan continued to taunt Rauf when the latter lost his cool and ran towards the fan.
The incident was quick to go viral as Rauf faced mixed reactions from the fans. However, the PCB is clearly supporting Rauf as Mohsin Naqvi took to X and asked the fan to make an apology failing which legal action will be taken against him.
“Strongly condemn the appalling incident involving Haris Rauf. Such actions against our players are completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated. Those who are involved must immediately apologise to Haris Rauf, failing which we will pursue legal action against the individual responsible,” Naqvi tweeted.

Earlier, Rauf had also taken to X and clarified the situation with the fan, revealing that the latter had made disrespectful remarks about his family, which was the reason that he lost his cool in the interaction.
“As public figures, we are open to receiving all kinds of feedback from the public, they are entitled to support or criticize us. Nevertheless, when it comes to my parent and my family, I will not hesitate to respond accordingly. It is important to show respect towards people and their families, irrespective of their professions,” Rauf tweeted.
The recent few weeks have not been the best ones for Pakistan, several of the star players have been under the radar due to the Men in Green’s group stage exit from the T20 World Cup 2024, and the controversy surrounding Haris Rauf seems to have only made the matters worse.
