After a wait of 1021 days and countless matches, Virat Kohli finally managed to breach that elusive three-figure mark to register his 71st century in international cricket. His knock of 122 runs off 61 deliveries against Afghanistan was his first century in T20Is. And when the batting ace lifted his helmet and raised his bat to acknowledge the crowd after his century, an elderly Indian gentleman was seen bowing down to Kohli, a great mark of respect to a great talent.

The former Indian skipper's century was a sign of relief not only for him but for all his fans around the globe, who are expecting more of the same from the batting megastar. Social media was lit up following his incredible feat, equalling Ricky Ponting's 71 centuries in international cricket. Cricket fans from all over the world along with several cricketers and former cricketers congratulated the batter, hailing him as 'King Kohli'.

Several Indian fans were seen bowing down to arguably the greatest batter of this era. But one picture that summed up the emotions of all of them perfectly was of an elderly fan bowing to Kohli as the batter smiled while acknowledging the crowd after his mesmerizing innings.

When Virat took off his helmet to celebrate his first ever T20I century for India, there was an expression of relief, a smile, a laugh, that highlighted the troubles he went through in the last couple of years. The ace batter revealed his emotions after the knock, saying he was in shock as a century in the shortest format was the least expected by him. He further thanked his wife and daughter Vamika for their immeasurable support.

“It [the century] was worth 1000 words, I am blessed and grateful right now – the last 2 and half years have taught me a lot – this November I will turn 34 so the celebrations are of the past. During these celebrations, there were lot of thing put into perspective Actually. I was shocked[with the 100] because this is format I least expected to get a 100," Kohli told the host broadcaster.
