‘Please take your conversations elsewhere’ - Shikha Pandey responds to trolls regarding her take on Mohammed Siraj and Phil Salt tiff
"If you think hurling abuse on my TL or some one else’s helps you get your point across pls continue to do so. I can speak for myself, it does NOT," Shikha Pandey tweeted.
The 50th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 featured a clash between the David Warner-led Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday, May 6. Despite posting 181 runs on the board in the first innings, Bangalore succumbed to defeat due to Phil Salt’s brilliant knock.
One of the highlights of the game was the argument between Mohammed Siraj and Phil Salt when both got into an altercation in the fifth over of the run chase. Seeing the argument, India women’s all-rounder Shikha Pandey took to Twitter and wrote, "Swearing won’t help anyone win any games! #JustSaying."
Her tweet didn't go well with a lot of netizens as they hurled abuse at the Indian all-rounder to express their anger, which made Pandey give them a fitting reply. She tweeted, "I’ve always been in awe of Mohammed Siraj’s bowling. What he has achieved in his career thus far is incredible, inspiring, & incomparable," she tweeted.
"So folks trying really hard to make it appear as if I implied something else please take your conversations elsewhere. Also, if you think hurling abuse on my TL or some one else’s helps you get your point across pls continue to do so. I can speak for myself, it does NOT," she added.
Phil Salt’s brilliance propelled DC to emphatic win against RCB
Talking about the game, Bangalore posted 181 runs on the board after the first innings. It was the brilliant knocks by Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Mahipal Lomror that helped Bangalore post a respectable total on the board for Delhi to chase.
Kohli scored 55 runs off 46 deliveries, whereas du Plessis amassed 45 runs off 32 balls. Furthermore, Mahipal Lomror’s unbeaten knock of 54 runs in just 29 balls was crucial for the team. Coming in to chase the target, skipper David Warner’s run of poor form continued as he only managed to score 22 runs in 14 balls. However, it was the knock of English batter Phil Salt that propelled Delhi to a brilliant win.
Salt amassed 87 runs in 45 deliveries, and his knock helped Delhi register their fourth win of the season and keep their playoff qualification hopes alive.
