Rahul Dravid congratulates India U19 Women's Team after T20 World Cup triumph
Shafali Verma and Co. emerged victorious by seven wickets to clear the final hurdle in the global ICC event, which concluded the long wait for a World Cup win in women's cricket.
Following the colossal win in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, team India head coach Rahul Dravid sent a special message to the the young team. India's quest for a maiden world title in women's cricket came to fruition after a dominating win against rivals England by seven wickets in a low-scoring finale in Potchefstroom.
In a video shared by the BCCI, team India head coach Dravid took congratulated the team for the historic win and termed it a ‘landmark moment for women's cricket’.
"Today was a landmark day for the Indian women's U19 team. I would like to pass it on to U19 Men's captain to deliver a message for the girl," said Dravid.
Prithvi Shaw, who was also present alongside Dravid, congratulated the side for their win against the Three Lions at the biggest stage.
"I think it is a great achievement. Congratulations, well done," said the 2018 U19 World Cup winning skipper.

A superb bowling performance by the Indian unit helped them topple the rival side for mere 68 runs in the summit clash. The bowling unit worked in tandem with notable performances coming from Titas Sadhu, Archana Devi, and Parshavi Chopra, all of whom picked two wickets each to wrap up the first innings.
In response, India swiftly hit the ground running despite openers getting dismissed early on. The duo of Soumya Tiwari (24 off 37) and Gongadi Trisha (24 off 29) carved out crucial knocks to steer the side to claim their maiden title.
