Ranveer Singh wins big for his performance
Ranveer is currently riding high with a wave of popularity as the actor has bagged multiple awards for his sensational performance in Kabir Khan’s sports film- 83. The director captured the spirit of the Indian team that triumphed in the 1983 Cricket World Cup after being portrayed as underdogs.
Earlier, the actor and the director won awards at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne’s (IFFM) Awards Night that took place at the Palais Theatre in St Kilda, Australia. Interestingly, the legendary cricketer Kapil Dev received his Lifetime Achievement Award in the same event. Moreover, he was seen getting emotional upon receiving the award and was grateful to the director for having captured spirit of the Cricket World Cup winning team.
“We sportspeople or actors are nothing until people like Kabir show us on the screen. We don’t become great players who can be remembered, until there are commentators and television channels to prop us up. They are the ones who make us big. We just carry our passion. We just enjoy ourselves. But, what Kabir and his team did, hamein maukaa milaa hai zindagi mein dobara jeene kaa (We’ve got a chance to live our lives all over again thanks to you),” said the World Cup winner.
