‘Rinku Bhaiya Zindabaad’ - Shreyas Iyer reveals having 'goosebumps' after watching Rinku Singh's innings against GT
Rinku Singh, Shreyas Iyer, and Nitish Rana shared the beautiful moment over a video call after the match.
Following his five sixes in the final over of the match against Gujarat Titans, Rinku Singh has become the talk of the town. Notably, KKR needed 28 runs in five balls to win the match and commentator Nick Knight already announced it to be an impossible task. However, the Aligarh-born cricketer made the impossible possible, smacking five sixes in different parts of the ground to help the Knight Riders register a memorable win at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Meanwhile, after his heroics, Shreyas Iyer had a special video call with Rinku, where he expressed his joy seeing the southpaw bat. The 25-year-old in the conversation stated that it was God’s plan while skipper Nitish Rana revealed that Rinku was desperate to finish the game this time around, especially after failing to do something similar against Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2022.
“Rinku Bhaiya Zindabbad, Rinku Bhaiya Zindabaad! Class man, class. Such calm and composure yaar, class yaar class. Well played Nitish. I had goosebumps,” Iyer stated as Kolkata Knight Riders shared the video on their social media handles.
This is Rinku’s world and we are all living in it: Nitish Rana
Following KKR’s incredible run chase against Gujarat, actor Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter to congratulate Rinku Singh, Nitish Rana, and all the players for having a cracker of a game. He also asked the players to believe in themselves in order to overcome any difficult situation. Meanwhile, replying to Khan, skipper Nitish Rana jokingly said that it is Rinku’s world and everyone’s living in it.
“Thank you sir for your kind words. But in all honesty, this is Rinku’s world and we are all living in it,” Rana tweeted.
Meanwhile, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma too congratulated Rinku for his extraordinary innings. The 35-year-old pointed out that IPL is indeed the place where talented cricketers get enough opportunities to show their class. He also consoled Yash Dayal in his tweet.
“IPL is truly a place where talent meets opportunity. Unbelievable innings, Rinku! And tough luck Yash, one to learn from,” Rohit tweeted.
