On November 6, star Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell opened up about his smooth exit from Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The 36-year-old revealed that he had a 30-minute chat with the team management ahead of the IPL retention deadline, in which, the franchise clarified its intentions and future plans. Maxwell highlighted that and stated that he hopes every team follows the same with all the players.

Following his statement, Royal Challengers Bengaluru shared a message from their Director of Cricket Mo Bobat highlighting the importance of maintaining a healthy ‘team culture’. Bobat noted that the inception and the ending of a player in a particular franchise are extremely important and they pay attention to building personal and cultural connections with everyone.

Interestingly, star India player Rishabh Pant liked that post on Instagram. The cricketer was released by Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction and since then, he’s linked with multiple franchises, including RCB, who are also looking for a new captain after Faf du Plessis’ departure.

Meanwhile, Delhi haven’t posted anything on their social media handles about Pant’s departure. Neither the JSW nor the GMR group have commented on the matter. It was reported that the franchise tried to convince Pant to stay but both parties couldn’t agree on terms, leading him to come to the auction, slated to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah.

Recently, Australia pacer Mitchell Starc stated that Kolkata Knight Riders also didn’t communicate with him about a possible retention. The defending champions also didn’t hold any meeting with him regarding his release. He was bought for INR 24.75 crore in 2024 and the cricketer played a vital role for the team in the Qualifier 1 and also in the final.

Taking these things into account, RCB’s care for their players was heavily appreciated by the fans.
