Rohit Sharma's animated phone call soon after Cuttack ODI catches fans' attention

The ODI series between India and England has turned out to be another successful series for the Men in Blue who have claimed it after winning the game in Cuttack. The hero of the match was none other than Rohit Sharma who finally found some form in the match by scoring an incredible century (119 off 90) and setting a solid platform for a 300+ chase. 

This was Rohit’s long-awaited century, coming after 338 days. He had been going through a lean patch in the last few international matches before the game. This was enough to adjudge him as the Player of the Match as he smashed the England bowlers all around the park. Rohit smashed 12 fours and seven maximums during the innings.

There is no doubt that Rohit got a lot of attention after the century in Cuttack, so much so that the fans also noticed him having an animated conversation with someone on the phone. However, it was not Rohit but the phone he used that made headlines. It is also to be noted that Rohit was seen using a different brand's phone earlier.

Meanwhile, the century in Cuttack was Rohit’s 32nd in ODIs and he currently holds the record for the third-most centuries in the format just below current teammate Virat Kohli (50) and Sachin Tendulkar (49). He is ahead of legendary players Ricky Ponting and Sanath Jayasuriya. Speaking of his overall record in the format, he is only 13 runs away from another milestone of 11000 runs.
