Sachin Tendulkar meets para cricketer Amir Hussain Lone, gifts him signed bat
"To Amir, the real hero. Keep inspiring! It was a pleasure meeting you," Tendulkar wrote on X.
Legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar recently met the inspirational Jammu & Kashmiri para-athlete Amir Hussain Lone. Lone overcame a multitude of challenges after he was involved in an accident at the tender age of 8, which left him without arms. Nonetheless, his dedication and hardwork led him to become the captain of the state's para-cricket team.
Tendulkar, who is currently in Kashmir, had earlier mentioned that he wished to meet him after being touched by Lone's story and unique playing style. The 50-year-old recently shared a video of him meeting the para-cricketer and his family on his official social media handles. The gesture of Tendulkar gifting him a signed bat not only reflects the Master Blaster's humility and sportsmanship, but also conveys a powerful message of inspiration and perseverance.
Sharing the video on Instagram, Tendulkar wrote, "To Amir, the real hero. Keep inspiring! It was a pleasure meeting you".

Amir has made the impossible possible: Sachin Tendulkar
In January this year, Sachin Tendulkar shared a video of Lone playing cricket and heaped praise on the differently-abled cricketer. In the video, the 34-year-old was batting and bowling in the nets and was spotted wearing Tendulkar’s jersey. Lone, who hails from Waghama village of Bijbehara, started playing professional cricket in 2013 when a teacher saw his aptitude and introduced him to para cricket. He holds the bat between his neck and shoulder while he bowls with feet.
"And Amir has made the impossible possible. I am so touched watching this! Shows how much love and dedication he has for the game. Hope I get to meet him one day and get a jersey with his name. Well done for inspiring millions who are passionate about playing the sport," Tendulkar wrote on X in January this year.
