India batter Sai Sudharshan is all set to make his return to Surrey for two of their County Championship matches against Lancashire and Nottinghamshire. Previously, Sudharshan played for Surrey against Essex at the Kia Oval in June before making his debut for India soon after that.
With the Duleep Trophy fast approaching, the two matches for Surrey could prove to be excellent practice for Sudharshan. In the Duleep Trophy, the 22-year-old is a part of Team C. The tournament will begin on September 5, and Sudharshan’s stint with Surrey will end on September 1.
To make the announcement official, Surrey Cricket took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and confirmed that Sai Sudharshan has arrived and will be available for the side’s next two matches.

Sudharshan was recently called up for the Indian team after his brilliant performances in the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024 for Gujarat Titans. Having notched 527 runs in 12 innings at an average of 47.90, he was the highest run-getter for his side in the season.
As for Surrey, the side is in impeccable form, as they are sitting at the top of the standings with six wins out of nine matches to their name. The side has 157 points to their name and will be hopeful of another two wins with Sai Sudharshan in their squad.
Through his performances in the IPL, Sudharshan has established himself as one of the biggest prospects in Indian cricket. Through his stellar knocks in pressure situations, he has been a real asset for Gujarat Titans and will hope to put in a similar showing for Surrey as well in the County Championship.
