'I’d like to hear from the selectors about their thought process' - Aakash Chopra baffled over Hardik Pandya's treatment
"Now, he’s not even the VC," said Chopra.
The retirement of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma has led to a few young faces coming into the T20I side, especially for the upcoming series against England which will be starting from January 22. This series will be a big test for the youngsters who want to make a mark in international cricket.
There are still match-winners in the team, however, there are questions that the experts want some answers to. One of those questions is the decision to make Suryakumar Yadav the skipper in the shortest format in place of Hardik Pandya who was the vice captain earlier. There are still some experts who are confused by this decision since Hardik was supposedly being groomed to be the next T20I captain after Rohit.
The recent news of Axar Patel being the vice-captain for the England T20Is has led former cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra to question the selectors on why Hardik's status has been demoted in the squad.
