The participation at the Dubai International Stadium for the high-stake clash between Bangladesh vs India in the Champions Trophy match was notably very low, etching contrasts to Virat Kohli’s recent Ranji Trophy comeback in Delhi at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, which saw a much larger and enthusiastic attendance.
Regardless of the stadium’s capacity to hold 25,000 seats, only a smattering number of the crowd showed up, leaving the stands visibly deserted. This uncommon sight for an Indian cricket game created chaos among the fans online, especially proving the evident and obvious Indian community in the UAE. Many contemplated that Dubai’s blistering heat was the reason for the empty stadium in Dubai.
“There is no crowd in Dubai because it’s hot, and fans know that the Dubai Stadium doesn’t have the world-class spray facilities of Cuttack", wrote a social media user barbed out the bleak weather condition.

Another fan stated on the deserted count on a weekday writing, “Indians are considered locals in Dubai, but on weekdays, the attendance is almost ZERO. You were just trying to humiliate the host nation yesterday and nothing else.”
Some even took a gibe at the advisory board for the indigent turnout, with a user stating, “The stadium is empty for the India match. I thought Indians were running cricket worldwide. It’s a half-day in the UAE too, yet the stands are deserted.”

Bangladesh were bowled out with 2 balls to spare for the first innings and managed to put up a score of 228 on board. Towid Hridoy smashed a century and Jaker Ali was on the other side and got dismissed for 68 runs. As the game itself carried crucial importance, the decreased number of spectators has become a topic of concern in the town, raising speculations about the scheduling of the games and weather conditions of matches in such extreme situations.
