'Sure it was another video game innings by him' - Virat Kohli on Suryakumar Yadav's splendid 111-run knock vs New Zealand
Virat Kohli has been rested for the New Zealand tour but he has his eyes on the proceedings.
India batter Suryakumar Yadav lightened up the Mount Maunganui with his batting on Sunday (November 20). He smashed an unbeaten 111 off just 51 deliveries with 11 fours and seven sixes to single-handedly help India post a mammoth total of 191 runs in their 20 overs. Former India captain Virat Kohli was also in awe of this super knock from Surya as he took to Twitter to express himself praising the cricketer.
Surya was also well on his way to register highest individual score of his T20I career, however, he didn't get strike in the final over of the innings. Tim Southee hogged the limelight picking up a sensational hattrick and conceding only five runs in the last over. But that didn't take any credit away from Surya who had played a swashbuckling knock already.
Coming back to Kohli, he came up with a hilarious tweet for his teammate and friend. While he admitted that he didn;t watch Suryakumar Yadav's knock live, Kohli was sure that it was kind of a video game knock where the batter was just playing with the opposition bowlers smacking them for runs at will.
"Numero Uno showing why he's the best in the world. Didn't watch it live but I'm sure this was another video game innings by him," Kohli wrote in his tweet.
Sur-Vir partnership continues on social media
The camaraderie between Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli is known to everyone as they enjoy batting with each other. The duo has already joined hands together for a partnership lot of times while playing for India. They have spoken highly of each other as well.
Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav is the number one batter in T20Is and clearly, his latest knock must have strengthened his position at the top.
