On National Sports Day, Mumbai's cricketing stars took a break from the field to bring smiles and inspiration to patients at the Sri Ramakrishna Multi Speciality Hospital, in Coimbatore.

Among the visiting players were Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Dhawal Kulkarni, who spent time interacting with patients in the cancer ward aka the Oncology Department. The visit was not just a routine stop for these athletes but a gesture towards their fellow citizens. Notably, the cricket stars were warmly welcomed by the young kids with red roses.

Moreover, they also gifted art portraits to Suryakumar and Shreyas as souvenirs. Thereafter, both of them interacted with the kids and also signed mini cricket bats along with some gifts for them. Before leaving they wished the kids a speedy recovery as well.

Suryakumar Yadav picks up an injury while fielding

On the cricket front, Mumbai's performance was far from satisfactory in the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament as they suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of TNCA XI, which ended their chances of reaching the semis. Iyer and Sarfaraz Khan, two of their key batters, failed to make significant contributions.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav, couldn't bat due to a hand injury which he picked up while fielding. However, reports suggest that the injury isn't serious, and Yadav's absence was likely a precautionary measure. The Mumbai innings saw some decent effort from Shams Mulani, who top-scored with 68 runs while chasing a huge target of 510 runs.

Unfortunately, his knock wasn't enough to save the team from a heavy defeat. TNCA XI's bowlers, particularly CV Achyuth and R Sai Kishore, wreaked havoc, claiming three wickets each to dismantle the Mumbai batting lineup and restrict them to 223 by Day four.
