The exciting clash between India and Zimbabwe concluded with the former crushing the African nation by 71 runs and cruised into the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022. In the midst of the match, one of the incidents garnered a lot of attention as a fan invaded the pitch to meet India skipper Rohit Sharma.
The young fan got onto the ground and was seen emotionally approaching the Men in Blue captain and was later taken away by the security present in the ground. The fan was seemingly in tears as he met Rohit Sharma but the moment was intervened by the security officials at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Moreover, it is understood that appropriate action has been taken on the fan for invading the pitch.

Furthermore, as the stewards managed to handle the situation, the fan was fined a whopping INR 6.5 lakhs for breaking the discipline that must be maintained by spectators in the stands.
India make it to the last four
Coming to the match, the Men in Blue comprehensively registered the win against the Zimbabweans as they posted a mammoth total of 186 in their stipulated 20 overs. In response to the massive score, the African nation were thoroughly beaten by the bowling unit and humbled as India convincingly earned the two points from the contest.
India along with the likes of Pakistan have registered their spots in the semi-finals of the tournament from the Group 2 of the Super 12 stage. Rohit Sharma and Co. are set to lock horns with England on Thursday, November 10 at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide for the last four match.
The side will look to maintain the sheer dominance they projected against Zimbabwe and will look to clinch the coveted title this year since their last win in a T20 finals back in 2007.
