‘Thank Allah for this new life’ - Musheer Khan gives first statement after road accident in UP

India domestic cricketer Musheer Khan, who is the brother of Sarfaraz Khan, was recently involved in a car accident while he was on his way to join Mumbai’s squad for the Irani Cup. He was travelling from Azamgarh to Lucknow with his father when the accident happened. 

It is worth noting that Musheer Khan’s vehicle collided with the divider and overturned several times, which saw the cricketer sustain a neck fracture. Due to his injuries, the Mumbai cricketer has been sidelined for a few months. 

Recently, the youngster came forward for the first time after his accident and talked about his injuries. He expressed gratitude to those who have supported him in his tough times. 

"First of all, I would like to thank Allah for this new life. I am fine now. My father was with me; he is also fine now. I would like to thank you all for your prayers,” Musheer Khan said in a video he posted on Instagram. 

The video of the same was shared by Musheer on his official Instagram account; he was seen wearing a neck brace in the clip, and his father, Naushad Khan, also shared his thoughts on the same.

"Good evening, first of all, I would like to thank the Almighty for this new life. I would also like to thank all those people who have prayed for us - well-wishers, friends, and relatives. I am very thankful to all of them,” Naushad Khan said.

Musheer to miss out on Australian tour

Interestingly, Musheer Khan was set to be a part of India A’s squad, which would tour Australia in the coming months. He impressed with his performances in the recently concluded Duleep Trophy, where he amassed 181 runs to his name.

He is currently admitted in the Medanta hospital in Lucknow, and after he is discharged, he will be undergoing further evaluation in Mumbai. As for his replacement in the Irani Cup squad, the MCA is yet to announce a replacement.
