The way Rohit Sharma utilizes Powerplay is memorable to watch: Shafali Verma
"I always feel good watching how he makes the most of the Powerplay," said Shafali.
Team India's skipper Rohit Sharma has a fearless approach in the batting order and he has taken the onus on himself to deliver quick runs making use of the powerplay. The same was evident in World Cup 2023 and T20 World Cup 2024 as the Indian team reaped benefits. As the Indian women’s team braces for the T20 World Cup 2024, young batter Shafali Verma has admitted to being in awe of Rohit's fury.
Indian Women’s team has never won a T20 World Cup over eight editions. They came close to winning the title in 202 but were beaten by Australia in the final. This time around, the team is aiming nothing less than silverware, and one of the key batters of the side Shafali seems to don the role of Rohit for the women’s team.
“I would choose India's Rohit Sharma because the way he utilizes the Powerplay is memorable to watch. Even in the World Cup, there are 2-3 innings I can recall. I always feel good watching how he makes the most of the Powerplay,” said Shafali while speaking to Star Sports.
Here's the video of Shafali's comments:
