'They love him' - Anushka Sharma left awestruck as fans go berserk on MS Dhoni's arrival at Chinnaswamy
CSK faced RCB at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 17 and won the contest by eight runs.
While the clash between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings at the Indian Premier League is termed as the El Clasico, the game between CSK and Royal Challengers Bangalore too garners immense attention. It sets MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli, two of Indian cricket's top talents, against one another. The same was true in Monday's game between RCB and CSK at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
While the Bengaluru audience strongly supports RCB, Dhoni also commands enormous respect. Thus, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium crowd was majorly in Yellow, instead of Red which was seen during RCB’s other home games, and the crowd went berserk when Dhoni walked out to bat in the final over of the first innings.
Anushka Sharma, Virat Kohli’s wife, and Imari du Plessis, Faf du Plessis’ wife, were awestruck by the fans’ reaction to Dhoni’s arrival. Anushka looked mighty impressed, as she was seen saying “They love him”. It was a unique moment to witness at the Chinnaswamy on ‘Derby Day’, as the stadium witnessed more CSK fans rather than the home crowd.

CSK win the thrilling encounter by eight runs
Speaking of the game, Chennai Super Kings amassed an impressive 226 for six in the encounter against RCB on Monday, thanks to the blazing 83 that Devon Conway hammered off just 45 balls and the fiery 52 that Shivam Dube notched up off just 27 balls. When RCB decided to bowl, it was difficult for their bowling assault since the CSK hitters came out all guns blazing from the start.
Though the in-form Ruturaj Gaikwad was dismissed early, that did not play a major role in CSK’s innings as Conway was out on the field with clear intentions. A few slip-ups from the RCB bowlers, especially Glenn Maxwell giving away wides and no-balls in the final over led to CSK posting the humungous total. But as they say, no big score is safe at the Chinnaswamy.
Faf du Plessis and Maxwell led the charge during the chase as RCB looked in a dominating position to win the game. Just when it looked like the game had slipped out of CSK’s hands, the bowlers bounced back to send the in-form batters packing. The middle-order batters could not do much as CSK bowlers, even after some errors, took hold of the game to eventually win it by eight runs.
