Few things evoke a profound sense of pride and belonging, and among them is the recognition of the armed forces and other services. Indian cricketer, Yuzvendra Chahal, experienced a similar profound sense of pride and belonging during his meet with the "Special Forces" on August 9, at the Dogra Regiment in Uttar Pradesh.

Through a heartfelt Instagram post, which featured a series of photographs - including him presenting a framed T20 World Cup 2024-winning jersey to one of the chiefs, posing alongside various officers, and an extraordinary group photo with all the commandos - Chahal conveyed his deep emotions. He expressed his profound honor and immense pride in spending time with such a distinguished group dedicated to serving the nation.

In today's era, where cricketers are often engrossed in numerous brand endorsements and social events, encounters between Indian players and army personnel are exceptionally rare. However, several former cricketers have had as association with Army. For instance, Sachin Tendulkar was appointed as an honorary Group Captain in the Indian Air Force in 2010, while former Indian captain, MS Dhoni, was bestowed the title of honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army in 2011.

Regarding the leggie's current status in cricket, he has been notably absent from the limelight for an extended period. Despite being included in the 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, he did not feature in any of the matches of the tournament. His exclusion extended to the subsequent Zimbabwe series and the recently-concluded Sri Lanka tour. Chahal will likely intensify his training efforts to re-establish his position within the Indian setup.
