'To see MS Dhoni just once' - CSK fan buys match tickets worth INR 64,000, delays payment of daughters' school fees
The legendary MS Dhoni is arguably the most popular cricketer of all time.
MS Dhoni's aura in Indian cricket is unmatched. While most of the cricketers have fans, the legendary wicketkeeper-batter has devotees. Wherever the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) cricketer plays, his humongous fanbase turns up and paints the stadium yellow.
Some insane stories of Dhoni's fandom have emerged over the years and it has left the cricket fraternity speechless. Another such instance came to light recently as a Super Kings fan came to the MA Chidambaram Stadium to watch his favourite player in action. The fan took his three daughters to watch the one-sided Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 clash between the Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The father revealed that he didn't get tickets for the match initially and had to pay a whopping INR 64,000 to get them in black.
"I didn't get the tickets, so I bought them in black. It was a total of ₹64,000. I am yet to pay the school fees. But we wanted to see MS Dhoni just once. My three daughters and I are very happy," the father told Sportwalk Chennai.
"My father has worked very hard to get these tickets. We were very happy when Dhoni came to play," one of his young daughters said.
Paying such a hefty amount for match tickets will blow the minds of many. However, that is not all. The father went on to reveal that he had kept his daughters' school fees on hold to buy match tickets and watch the former India captain in action.
The father and his daughters sported the Chennai jersey and were also seen blowing whistles, which is the signature fan act of the five-time champions.

The man's decision to prioritise watching the CSK versus KKR tie from the stands and delaying his daughters' school fees didn't sit well with a section of fans on social media and one user termed it as "stupidity".
"I am at a loss for words to describe this stupidity," Urologist Dr Jaison Philip wrote on 'X' (formerly Twitter).
"A match is not worth more than kids education. Don’t glorify this," an Instagram user wrote.
However, another user felt that it was important for the man to make unforgettable memories for his daughter.
"His kids will cherish these moments and praise their father who made this happen throughout their life. He will somehow manage to pay the school fees. After long calculations only he might have bought the tickets," X user M Srinivasan wrote.
