Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket right after the conclusion of the third Test against Australia in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The veteran was included in the squad and played just one Test in the series at the Adelaide Oval which was a day and night game. Recently, his post on his social media account ‘X’ caught a fan’s attention and was perceived the way he would not have wanted it to.
The former India spinner took to his Twitter account and posted a leadership line. As soon as the post was out it caught attention and fans hinted at Ashwin’s potential as one of the star India cricketers. But the right-arm spinner took no time and cleared the air surrounding the statement. He posted another tweet and clarified that it did not particularly target the cricketers with fan clubs.

They say life is a circle: Ashwin
For the unversed, Ashwin will be seen playing in the Indian Premier League though his international stint has come to an end. The veteran played for Rajasthan Royal until IPL 2024 and will now get back to his former team Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025. After he was bought by CSK at IPL 2025 mega auctions, Ashwin showed excitement on getting back with the team with whom he started his IPL journey.

"They say life is a circle. From 2008 till 2015, I wore the yellow jersey and played for CSK and I am always indebted to them. Whatever I learnt at CSK, has helped me hugely in my international cricket journey as well till today. It's almost 10 years since I last played for CSK, 2015 was my last season with CSK. I don't know how to express it, I was picked by CSK again in this auction,” Ashwin said in a video.
