Twitter Reactions: Quetta Gladiators register their second win of PSL 2023 beating Karachi Kings by four wickets

The action in the Pakistan Super League 2023 continued on Monday, March 6 as the bottom two teams on the points table Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings took on each other at Pindi Club Ground, Rawalpindi. Gladiators’ captain Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and invited the Kings to bat first.
The captain’s decision proved to be right as Naseem Shah sent Matthew Wade packing on the very first ball of the innings. A few overs later Aimal Khan dismissed Tayyab Tahir to give the Kings their second blow. Aimal struck once again in the eighth over scalping Qasim Akram’s wicket.
While wickets fell at one end, Adam Rossington continued to take the innings forward with his brilliant innings. He added 46 runs for the fifth wicket with captain Imad Wasim. Rossington was finally dismissed for a well-made 69 off 45 balls smashing 10 fours and a six.
Imad Wasim(30 off 20) and Aamer Yamin (23 off 11) gave the finishing touch to the innings as the Kings posted 164/6 on the board in their allotted 20 overs. Naseem Shah and Aimal Khan picked up two wickets each for the Gladiators.
In their reply, the Gladiators also didn’t get off to the best of starts as they lost opener Omair Yousuf in the second over of the match who got dismissed by Aamer Yamin. They further lost four more wickets in the first ten overs and were reeling at 63/5.

With their team in trouble, Martin Guptill and Sarfaraz Ahmed got together at the crease and almost took their team home by adding 95 runs for the sixth wicket in 57 balls. Guptill played a sensational knock of 86 off 56 balls smashing nine fours and four sixes in his innings. As Guptill smacked the bowlers all around the park, Sarfaraz held one end scoring 29 off 25 balls before his runout ended the magnificent partnership.
With 7 runs required from the last four balls, Dwaine Pretorious did the finishing job for his team scoring 10 off 3 balls as the Gladiators won the match by four wickets with one ball to spare. Tabraiz Shamsi was the pick of the bowlers for the Kings who picked up 2/20 in four overs.
