Hardik Pandya's first boundary was a massive 106-metre hit on the fifth delivery of the 45th over during India's innings against Australia in the first semi-final of the ongoing Champions Trophy at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday, March 4.

The monstrous shot came at Tanveer Sangha's expense. After a series of four dot balls, Hardik broke the shackles by clearing his front leg to a floated delivery in his arc, bludgeoning the ball over the bowler's head, which went soaring into the stands.

This particular maximum was Hardik's first in his crucial knock for the Indian unit. He later clobbered Adam Zampa for a couple of maximums to crumble any hopes that Australia had garnered throughout the second innings. Nathan Ellis got rid of Hardik in the 48th over, but it turned out to be a bit too late for the Men in Yellow's liking.

Masterful Kohli steers India to memorable win

Virat Kohli was awarded the Player of the Match award for his match-defining 84 (98). On a tricky deck in Dubai, Kohli anchored the second innings expertly to help India sail through the middle phase of their innings. His gritty 74th ODI half-century paved the way for a truly special win for the Men in Blue.
