Anjali Sarvani produced a peach of a delivery to see the back of Ellyse Perry during Match 18 of the Women's Premier League 2025 between UP Warriorz Women and Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women on Saturday, March 8.

The fifth delivery of her first over of the evening was when Perry was castled by a delivery which swung in from outside off stump to strike the leg pole from the around-the-wicket angle. Looking to heave the ball on the leg side, the star Australian completely missed it to have her stumps rattled.

Interestingly, this was the left-arm Sarvani's first game of the season. Coming in for Gouher Sultana in what was UP's last game of the season, Sarvani's scalp turned out to be really decisive at the end. Perry was not allowed to capitalise on the blazing start she had provided herself. UP ended up clinching the 438-run carnage by 12 runs to bow out of WPL 2025 on a triumphant note.

Records shattered left and right in high-scoring frenzy

The Ekana International Cricket Stadium was witness to a thriller of a contest, with Bengaluru almost hunting down the 226-run target set by UP. With their fifth loss on the trot, the defending champions were knocked out of the tournament. A multitude of records were created during the game.

The previous match aggregate of 403 between Gujarat Giants Women and Bengaluru during this season's match was overhauled. Notably, UP-W posted 225/5, which was the highest total registered in WPL history. A whopping total of 71 boundaries became the most in a WPL match. Bengaluru's 11 sixes in their innings were the joint-most hit by a team in an innings in the WPL.
