Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina lead as cricket fraternity extends warm wishes to KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty

The cricket fraternity took no time to extend its heartfelt and utmost warm wishes to the newly married couple in town, KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty as the pair got hitched on Monday, January 23.

The couple's wedding is the most talked about topic presently, even more so after they shared some warming photographs from their dreamy wedding to delight the eagerly waiting fans. The marriage was a highly private affair at the Shetty's residence in Khandala, Maharashtra, and was attended by the ones who are extremely close to both families.

"Congratulations," India's batting maestro Virat Kohli commented on the Instagram post where the couple shared pictures from their wedding followed by heart emojis.

Former India cricketer Munaf Patel took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to congratulate the couple on their new journey. "Congratulations @klrahul for new innings. Wish both of you happy married life ahead. #KLRahulAthiyaShettyWedding," Munaf's tweet read.

"Congratulations @klrahul & @theathiyashetty. Wishing you both a very happy married life & a lifetime of togetherness," wrote former India cricketer Suresh Raina.

KL Rahul's long-time friend and former batting partner for India, Punjab Kings and Karnataka batter Mayank Agarwal wrote, "Congratulations Guys, Wish you both all the happiness, health and memories together." Suryakumar Yadav forwarded his best wishes to the couple as well.

In the Instagram post where Athiya and KL Rahul posted their wedding pictures, many personalities and franchises like Rahul's IPL team Lucknow Super Giants shared their wishes. Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh, Suryakumar Yadav's wife Devisha Shetty, BCCI's media and content manager Rajalaxmi Arora, who is also close friends with both Rahul and Athiya, Yuzvendra Chahal's wife Dhanashree Verma too sent their best wishes in the comment section.
