Virat Kohli poses with former RCB teammate Marcus Stoinis ahead of T20 World Cup 2022
Virat Kohli and Marcus Stoinis played together for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2019.
Virat Kohli has a huge fanbase around the world and there is arguably no better player than him when it comes to forging strong bonds with teammates. Kohli and Marcus Stoinis have shared the same dressing room during their stint for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2019 and their bond seems to have gone from strength to strength.
The duo gave a glimpse of its camaraderie in Australia ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022 too.
Kohli’s long-time friend Shreyans posted a photo of himself, Kohli and Stoinis hanging out in a beautiful place in Australia on Instagram on Tuesday, October 11 and it immediately garnered a lot of likes. This is not the first time that Kohli had been spotted with players from other nations. The India batter shares a very fond bond with South African legend AB de Villiers, among others.
The image of the three friends hanging out certainly won a lot of hearts on social media. While sharing the picture, Shreyans captioned it as, “Name a better top 3.” Virat Kohli commented on Shreyans’ post and wrote, “Nice watch mate. Where did you get it from?”
Virat Kohli’s purple patch in recent times
Few months back, there were a lot of doubts over Virat's inclusion in the playing XI and it looked like the 33-year-old had passed his prime with an extended string of low scores. However, he managed to regain form during the Asia Cup 2022, where he batted splendidly throughout the tournament and ended up as the second-highest run getter.
He continued the good form into the home series against Australia and South Africa, and a lot of hopes will rely on his shoulders in the T20 World Cup 2022. India is scheduled to play a warm up game against Australia on October 17 and both Kohli and Stoinis are expected to feature in the game at opposite ends. Both players will have crucial roles to play for their countries in the mega ICC event which starts from October 16.
