However, the 34-year-old was considerate and assured the fan of a selfie before he departed for Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup 2023. Kohli told the fan when he was leaving for Sri Lanka and stated that he would take a selfie before leaving. The clip of the moment has been doing the rounds all across social media.

Kohli’s form to be key for India in upcoming tournaments

Undoubtedly, Virat Kohli will prove to be a vital cog in the Indian team’s arsenal for their upcoming marquee tournaments. Led by Rohit Sharma, the side will be competing in the Asia Cup 2023, which is scheduled to begin on August 30. Furthermore, the ODI World Cup 2023 is looming right around the corner as well.

The marquee event is all set to begin on October 5 with a clash between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Team India has not won an ICC title since their 2013 Champions Trophy triumph in England. With the amount of star power that team India possesses, it could be interesting to see how they fare in the upcoming international tournaments.

The performances of Virat Kohli could prove crucial for India. The 34-year-old has not featured for his side in the ongoing T20I series against the West Indies, and is expected to make his return to the side when India competes in the Asia Cup 2023.
