Wankhede crowd bows down to Jasprit Bumrah in iconic moment following T20 World Cup heroics

There were many performers who made an impact in India’s T20 World Cup-winning campaign in the USA and the West Indies, but not many had the impact that ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah had in the side. Spearheading the Men in Blue’s exceptional bowling attack, Bumrah won the Player of the Tournament award for his continued excellence in the competition. 

In respect, the entire Wankhede Stadium bowed down to Bumrah during the felicitation ceremony at the renowned stadium for the World Champions. Gaurav Kapur addressed the crowd and talked about how he is going to bow down to Bumrah, and everyone is welcome to follow him. 

The entire crowd was quick to follow as they bowed down to the MVP of India’s T20 World Cup win. The ace pacer finished the competition as the third-highest wicket taker, taking 14 wickets to his name; his spell in the final was crucial to limiting the Proteas as well.

Hopefully, it is far away now: Bumrah on retirement

Jasprit Bumrah has been part of the Indian set-up for quite a few years now. Being 30 years old, the ace pacer has already reached the mountaintop and is considered as one of the best bowlers in world cricket. With the ever-increasing stress and workload, Bumrah was asked his thoughts about retirement from T20Is and shifting his focus onto the longer format.

“It’s (my retirement) is a long way away. I have just started. Hopefully, it is far away now,” Bumrah said at the Wankhede Stadium. 

Furthermore, he talked about how happy and grateful he was that his family was there to witness him win the title and celebrate. “It was unreal. Usually, I am not the one who is at a loss of words, but seeing my son, the emotions that came in. I never cry after the game, but I started crying, and I cried two, three times,” he said.
