The 32nd match of the IPL 2025 season between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) is currently underway at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Both teams entered the contest with an unchanged playing XI. RR skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to field first.

For Rajasthan, Jofra Archer was given the new ball. He opened the bowling against Delhi’s openers, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel. Archer began with a decent over, giving 10 runs. However, it was the second over, bowled by Tushar Deshpande, that shifted momentum for DC.

Deshpande’s first delivery was a full toss to the left-handed batter, who whipped it over mid-wicket for a boundary. The second ball angled away from the batter and he advanced down the track and attempted a slog. Porel got a thick outside edge, and the ball raced to third man for another four, despite Archer’s attempt to cut it off.

On the third delivery, Deshpande kept the ball in line with the pads on a length, which Porel flicked over the deep backward square leg region for a six. The fourth ball was a slower one, pitched on a length and outside off and Porel waited patiently, playing it behind square past the sweeper cover for his third boundary of the over. The fifth delivery was a short ball around off-stump, and was pulled away firmly to the left of mid-wicket for another four.

By the end of the over, Deshpande had conceded 23 runs, giving DC a significant early boost in their innings. DC are currently placed second on the IPL 2025 points table, while RR find themselves struggling in the eighth position.
