Pacer Akash Deep picked up a five-wicket haul in the second innings of the Duleep Trophy Round 1 match between India A and B at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Abhimanyu Easwaran-led side managed a 90-run lead in the first innings and added another 184 runs in the second innings. They struggled heavily with the bat, else the target could have been higher for India A.
Meanwhile, Akash picked up the wickets of Easwaran, Musheer Khan, Washington Sundar, R Sai Kishore and Navdeep Saini. Dhruv Jurel picked up a sensational catch to pick up the wicket of Easwaran, while he outsmarted Musheer, who departed without opening his tally. The Bengal pacer picked up the wicket of Sundar on the morning of Day 4 when the latter failed to decipher the line and length.
Jurel once again picked up some good catches behind the stumps, as the pacer continued his onslaught with the wickets of Kishore and Saini. He raised his hands while going back to the pavilion, having given a chance to India A for a comeback and win the match. However, the Shubman Gill-led side struggled heavily with the bat in the morning session, as they were 76/4 at Lunch on Day 4. They need 199 runs in the remaining two sessions to pick up the win.
