Bangladesh team recently achieved a historic 2-0 Test series whitewash against Pakistan, making it their first-ever Test series victory against the South Asian counterparts. This feat, sealed with a six-wicket win in Rawalpindi, ended a 12-match winless streak against Pakistan for the side.
In the second Test, after being reduced to 26/6 in their first innings, many had written off the visitors' chances. However, led by centurion Litton Das and all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Bangladesh made an extraordinary comeback. Miraz emerged as a standout performer, contributing with both bat and ball.
His five-wicket haul in the second Test was crucial in dismantling the host's batting lineup. The experienced duo of Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan also played pivotal roles, especially in guiding the team to victory in the final innings of the second Test. The Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto after winning the Test series shared a photo on social media, showing himself asleep beside the title.
"Good morning," Shanto captioned his post.

The next series is very important: Najmul Hossain Shanto
This series win marks only their fourth-ever series whitewash in Test history and their second on away soil. More significantly, it's their first against a top-tier cricketing nation like Pakistan. The victory has helped them become only the second team after England to achieve a clean sweep in a Test series in Pakistan.

At the post-match presentation, Najmul Hossain Shanto emphasized the importance of carrying this momentum into their upcoming series against India, where they will look to break another longstanding jinx, having never won a Test match against their neighbours.
“The next series is very important and this win gives us a lot of confidence. We have a lot of experience in Mushi and Shakib, and they will be important in India. (On Miraz) The way he bowled and took 5 wickets in these conditions is very impressive, and hope he can do the same against India,” Shanto said.
