St. Lucia Kings clinched their first-ever Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title, defeating the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the finals at Providence Stadium on October 6. Captain Faf du Plessis' slow-motion walk during the trophy presentation caught everyone's attention.

After du Plessis was handed the coveted CPL title, he replicated Indian captain Rohit Sharma's famous gesture from the 2024 T20 World Cup title celebration, as he recreated the slow-motion walk and did a small dance before celebrating with the team.

The Warriors, batting first, struggled against the Kings' bowling attack and managed to put in just 138 runs in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, the Kings' chase faced early challenges, as they found themselves at 67/4 after 14 overs, needing 72 runs from just 36 balls.

From there Aaron Jones's explosive batting turned the game drastically. Jones smashed 27 runs off Moeen Ali's 16th over and got his side back in the game. His onslaught continued, as he targeted Dwayne Pretorius and Romario Shepherd in the subsequent overs.

Jones' unbeaten 48 off 31 balls, along with  Roston Chase's crucial 39 off 22, guided the Kings to victory with 11 balls to spare. The final run came courtesy of a leg-side wide from Warriors' captain Imran Tahir.
